    In Chinese Qi (or Chi) means life force energy and gong means skill. Medical Qigong is the practice of harnessing Qi to help heal someone. It is an ancient practice that is over 5000 years old. The clinical practice of Medical Qigong encompasses the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yin and Yang, and Five Element Theory in combination with advance meditative practices to increase the sensitivity of the practitioner. Medical Qigong practitioners look at the mental/emotional component of disease, as well as organ pathology, and channel pathology. At Morning Crane we except to see people get better after just one session. Sometimes, depending on the severity of the imbalance multiple sessions maybe needed. However, transformation occurs after the Medical Qigong session.

    What to expect in the first Medical Qigong session:

    -Intake form

    -Question and Answer relating to the imbalance. Methods assessment comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and includes: Face Reading, tongue assessment, pulse assessment, abdomen assessment, and Five Element assessment. Based on what the Medical Qigong practitioner notices from the questions and answer determines the strategy for the session.

    -Techniques include Qi point therapy, cupping, moxabustion, herbology, Chinese nutrition, gua sha, massage.

    -Prescribe Qigong meditation, dietary recommendations
